| I had the chance to visit the south polar regions in November and December 2010. It's a remarkable place, a much harsher environment than Alaska, even though the parts I visited were in lower latitudes. Despite the harshness, it is overflowing with life. This website is a journal of my trip, my notes and observations on what I saw, and some photographs of that extraordinary region.
