| The waves started to pile up during the night and have gotten bigger all day. Just before lunch, the Captain closed Third and Fourth Decks outside. Fifth Deck remains open behind the Observation Deck. Oddly it was quite clear until recently, but now it is starting to get gray. Our starboard windows are covered inside with quite serious shutters, costing us the view but presumably protecting us from the wind and big rollers coming in from the starboard side. The stern porthole remains open but doesn't offer much of a view. We're only about 36 hours from Elephant Island, so I'd say any landing there looks doubtful.
