In February 2010, we escaped a cold, dark Fairbanks winter by visiting Panama for two weeks. Not only was there sunshine, liquid water and a chance to wear shorts; there were also more than 900 bird species to be seen. This journal describes that trip, focusing on bird species we saw, or at least bird species we could photograph.
As always, you can click on a thumbnail for a larger image. You can navigate the site by date. You can navigate the site by the map below. And, at the end, there's a bird list and some additional trip notes.
As always, thanks to Dave and Jeff and, for the first time, Therese. We couldn't ask for better birding buddies. Ron and Mary, we missed you, but look forward to the next trip.
